The Qatar League consists of 12 participating teams and adopts a home-and-away double round-robin format, where 3 points are awarded for a win, 0 for a loss, and 1 point for a draw; in the case of equal points, the ranking is determined by goal difference and then goals scored in that order; the top 2 teams qualify for the AFC Champions League, while the third-placed team qualifies for the AFC Champions League 2; the last-placed team is directly relegated, and the second-to-last team will play a promotion/relegation playoff against the second-placed team from the second division, with the winner securing a spot in the Qatar League for the following season.
